Kalama Valley is a beautiful, residential community that sits at the base of the Koko Head Crater on the outskirts of Hawaii Kai. It is a fabulous neighborhood in which many people would like to live from younger people to retirees. It brings together a combination of a cozy neighborhood atmosphere where its residents go to retreat from the outside world and easy access to all the conveniences of shopping and work that more commercialized areas like Downtown Honolulu, Waikiki and Hawaii Kai offer.
Because of its prime location, it is easy to get to all the attractions that make South Oahu so enticing and popular. It is no more than 10 minutes away from the business district of Hawaii Kai, Koko Head Crater Botanical Gardens, and the area’s popular beaches like Sandy Beach and Makapu’u; Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu are about 30 minutes away.
For golfers, Kalama Valley is an ideal place to live since it is surrounded on two sides by the Hawaii Kai Golf Course and only five minutes to the clubhouse. Other courses such as the Royal Hawaiian Country Club, Mid-Pacific Country Club and the Olomana Golf Club are less than 30 minutes away.
Those who love the outdoors can be at the base of the Koko Head Crater Trail within five minutes for a fairly intense hike up the side to the park and Botanical Gardens at the top. Meanwhile, the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail is only 10 minutes by car for another great hike with the most gorgeous panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean at the top.
As for restaurants, grocery, and other services necessary in day to day life, Hawaii Kai is so close making the conveniences we need easy to get.
