Lutheran High School is a private, co-educational high school offering grade nine through twelve in a Christian setting. With campus located in University Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaii, it has a student body of more than a hundred and more than 10 teachers.
Established in 1947 by a mission group, the school started with only kindergarten and first grade. Since then, the school expanded by opening up new high school classes.
Lutheran High School believes in the philosophy of achieving academic excellence as well as instilling faith in Christ among its students. This twin program of academic and religious learning is the building block of the school’s curriculum.
It aims to develop total well-being for its students by ensuring their academic, spiritual, physical, social, emotional and aesthetic needs. The school’s curriculum is reflective of this mission.
Students are required to take up units in Christian Life, English, Social Studies, Math, Science, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Health, Computer, and electives.
Applicants seeking admission have to provide their transcripts, teacher recommendations and test scores. Some of the grade levels require applicants to take aptitude tests.
