Approximately two miles from Barbers Point Deep Reef Harbor you will find the Ko Olina shoreline that is a beach rock terrace made out of limestone. This beautiful beach is the sea edge of a prehistoric coral reef. The reef is made up out of four breathtaking lagoons. There are small channels that supply the lagoons with ocean water, but the lagoons are small enough to have almost no surf which make it perfect for families to swim in. Sadly, because of the murkiness of the water, poor underwater visibility makes snorkeling very difficult. You will find that these beautiful lagoons are not named but numbered, the first one starting next to Ihilani Resort and Spa.
Plus there are many Ko olina vacation rentals that one can stay in when visiting the area. Plus you can also check into Ko Olina real estate investments as a second home.
When development started on the four lagoons in early 1990, nobody would have guessed the success of the project. It is now home to protected beaches that shade toddlers and their parents year round from the violent surf known to Hawaii. Needless to say this is utopia for young families. The landscaping is breathtaking, the parking free and the lifeguard stations are always manned. So you see, the Ko Olina Beaches are very well liked, and for sure the most desired family destination on the Oahu coast.
If you are looking to travel to one of Hawaii's great beaches you may want to stay in one of the many Oahu Hawaii vacation rentals while you are visiting.
